Michelin Guide: list of Belgium's new Michelin-starred restaurants for 2024

On Monday 26 February, the prestigious Michelin Guide event took place in Antwerp, highlighting the outstanding chefs and restaurants in Belgium and Luxembourg. Let's take a look back at this exclusive ceremony and take a closer look at the new starred restaurants!
This year, Neon in Lier was awarded another green star in recognition of its sustainable practices, underlining the growing importance of ecological commitment in the world of gastronomy.
Julien Malaisse, chef of the Pré de chez Vous restaurant in Bouge, has been honoured with the title of Young Chef of the Year, a testament to his emerging talent and commitment to culinary excellence. In addition to this prestigious title, he also received a Michelin star for his establishment, adding a new dimension to his professional recognition.
The Sommelier of the Year award went to Mathieu Vanneste of the Boury restaurant in Roselaere, underlining the importance of service and wine expertise in the dining experience.
Nine new restaurants have been awarded a Michelin star, reflecting the diversity and excellence of the Belgian and Luxembourg culinary scene. Among them, Menssa and L'impératif d'Eole attracted particular attention as newcomers to the circle of Michelin-starred establishments.

Hoeve De Bies (Maurice Huynen), in St-Martens-Voeren
Menssa (Christophe Hardiquest), in Woluwe-Saint-Pierre
La Roseraie (Marie Trignon), in Modave
Julien (Davy Devlieghere) in Lovendeghem
Pont Neuf (Tommy Bocklandt), in Antwerp
Neon (Nils Proost), in Lier
Pré de chez Vous (Julien Malaisse), in Bouge
In addition, two restaurants have maintained their two-star rating, namely Sir Kwinten in Lennik and the famous Hof Van Cleve, now run by Floris Van Der Veken. This continuity in gastronomic excellence testifies to the consistency and quality of Michelin-starred establishments.
Finally, 't Zilte in Antwerp and Boury in Roeselare have retained their three stars, confirming their status as one of the region's top culinary destinations. This stability at the pinnacle of gastronomy underlines the exceptional mastery and creativity of chefs Viki Geunes and Tim Boury.
