Brussels Marriott Hotel Grand Place recognized as a “Queer Destinations"

The Brussels Marriott Hotel Grand Place was recently awarded the “Queer Destinations Committed” distinction, marking an important milestone in its commitment to inclusivity and diversity. This certification, awarded by Queer Destinations, attests that the hotel has developed specific measures to welcome the LGBTQIA+ community in a safe and respectful manner.

Complete training

To achieve this designation, the hotel trained its entire staff via the “Hospitality meets Diversity” program, which covers the history of the LGBTQIA+ community, real-life case studies, and best practices for providing the best possible experience for queer travelers. This training aims to ensure an environment free from discrimination and harassment for all customers and employees, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. By creating an inclusive work environment, the Brussels Marriott Hotel Grand Place ensures that all employees feel valued and respected, which translates into genuine, warm customer service.

Already active in several other countries, the Queer Destinations Committed is a response to the growing demand for safe and inclusive destinations for LGBTQIA+ travelers.By integrating these practices, the Brussels Marriott Hotel Grand Place hopes not only to attract a diverse clientele but also to serve as a model for other hotel establishments in Europe and beyond.
In addition to staff training and anti-discrimination measures, the Brussels Marriott Hotel Grand Place has also incorporated tangible elements to enhance the experience of LGBTQIA+ travelers. For example, the hotel offers specific events and activities for the queer community, collaborating with local LGBTQIA+ organizations to promote inclusive and diverse programming.
