The imminent revival of the iconic Hôtel Métropole in Brussels

The dynamic transformation of thehôtel Métropole will soon become a reality with the granting of a renovation licence by the Brussels Region, a welcome announcement that paves the way for a new era of career opportunities.

This emblematic hotel on Place de Brouckère has been closed since 2020 and is preparing to regain its former glory. The reopening is scheduled for late 2025.

Urban.brussels' planning permission includes a wide range of interventions, including the restoration and beautification of the facades, the renovation of the listed and unlisted interior spaces and the artistic lighting of the palace. The works also include the modernisation of the 267 rooms, the installation of a swimming pool and spa, and the creation of leafy terraces to create a luxurious, contemporary setting.

Besides aesthetics, the renovation also includes technical improvements to improve the hotel's sustainability and energy efficiency. Innovative technologies, eco-friendly materials and insulation measures will be implemented to create a greener, more energy-efficient environment.

This ambitious renovation project, the result of close cooperation between the owner and the relevant authorities, is supported by the bureau d’architecture Arter. The aim is to preserve the historic authenticity of the hotel while adapting it to contemporary demands for comfort and facilities.

"This renovation shows that the marriage between heritage, architecture and the hotel sector can be a source of opportunity for the future of Brussels".
